Homes for Black Children will prepare 60 disadvantage African-American children enrolled in the Detroit Elementary School System for reading at grade level by creating and sustaining a community of parental support.  Our Parent Club will be used to establish a parenting mentor program aimed at parent education, family literacy a life skills training.  Parent education will focus on child development, age specific parenting techniques, education as a core family value, and increased parental value in the school and educational community.
