The Lighthouse Family Self-Sufficiency program is an client asset/ strength based program model. The participating families will be required to complete home ownership training and the Lighthouse financial education and counseling program - no other direct program services will be provided. Families will work towards achieving a number seff-sufficiency indicators and will be eligible for financial incentives for reaching certain benchmarks.
The C.O.R.E. Project will provide tutoring assistance designed to increase literacy and school readiness levels for low-income, at-risk children, thereby closing the academic gap. The program will be available for children ranging in ages from 5 to 9 years who are referred by their school and/or are in need of literacy development or exhibit other academic deficiencies. The C.O.R.E. Project will offer services within our After School Program located at 46156 Woodward Avenue, Pontiac, MI or off-site within selected Pontiac elementary schools. Each off-site location would accommodate minimum of 15 children per site and the number of locations would increase the second year to accommodate further needs.
