YWCA Cares for Children Early Childhood/Preschool provides opportunities for parent and child to build and understand their relationship with community. Pre and post screening allows for parental and child goal setting. The curriculum supports cognitive development, development of self-concept, social problem solving situations and activities that build physical and mental awareness. Children have opportunities to develop and expand language skills. Parents are offered education and assistance in becoming champions for their children educationally and emotionally. They are given the tools needed to help develop into successful learners. The program contains frequent evaluations, which are shared with the parents.
YWCA Interim House provides temporary emergency shelter 24/7, 365 days a year to women and children survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Services include 24 hour crisis line, food, clothing, counseling, child therapy, childcare, victim and sexual advocacy, life skills, transportation and referrals. These services are combined with Nurse Betty Community Care Connection (NBCCC) in an outreach environment dedicated to promoting health and wellness preserving independence and self-sufficiency and improving the quality of life for all members of the community.
